Weaving through the produce section, shopping list in hand, I'm hastily looking over vegetables as I throw them into bags and carefully place them in the small spaces unoccupied by my daughter's car seat. I'm moving quickly, dodging shopping...
He came home from school a little tired, but his generally happy and sassy self. Normal for a Friday afternoon. He had a snack, snuggled up on the couch and hung out. I noticed he had a little fever, but since it was just barely 101, I didn't worry about treating him, just gave him some fluids and snuggles. After all, they tell us that fevers are good as long as they're under 104. It went up to 102, but he wasn't that uncomfortable so I decided to hold off on giving him anything until bedtime.  And that's when it all fell apart.
In an attempt to become more present in my life and to bring consciousness to my daily cell phone use, I limited my use to only the times that my children were sleeping or out of house. For an entire week my phone remained out of sight during family time. The results of my experiment served as a much needed reality check.
We are in challenging times. Coronavirus has changed our lives for the long term. I don’t know about you, but a few weeks ago when the shelter-in-place was announced and schools were closed, I was shell shocked.  It was...
I'm going to be very real with you all for a second: I am a preservative craving, junk food eating, non organic-using, toxin wearing kind of girl. And I do it all without an ounce of guilt... The way in which I willingly abuse my temple reeks of hypocrisy when it comes to making decisions for my children. Everything from cloth diapering and reusable wipes to organic home-made baby foods....you name it, if it's better for my kids, I've done it. They depend on me to do what I can to keep them safe and healthy. Even with my efforts, we have battled our fair share of sickness. And in keeping with the "only the best for my babies" theme, choosing which medicines to give them was an easy decision.
The gist is that like many mammals, babies are born with the ability to hold their pee and poop the same way adults do. When we put diapers on babies they loose this ability and learn to poop and pee freely into their diapers. Then they have to relearn how to hold it again later in life. However if they use this ability in the first six months of life then they can keep it and transition to using the toilet easily. Seems simple right?

It’s the end of a long day, the kids are in bed, and you sit on the couch, staring at your phone to unwind at the end of your day. Sound familiar? It’s what I do most nights because...

There’s not an emoji for how I am currently feeling, right this second. My family had great fun on Halloween making memories with some amazing family and friends, but as I sit at my computer, looking out at the...
In my extremely biased opinion, anytime is a good time to practice yoga. But this summer, in particular, taking yoga classes – especially outdoors in the sunshine – is a fantastic way to move your body and give your...
