This Valentine’s Day, indulge in a handmade hot cocoa bomb from one of Green Bay’s amazing treat-makers.

This Valentine’s Day, cozy up with a variety of everyone’s new favorite winter treat: hot cocoa bombs! Ever since last fall, these sweet confections have been trending everywhere and it’s easy to see why: a hollow chocolate orb that dissolves dramatically in warm water or milk, and releases hidden mini marshmallows and other goodies? Yes, please!

Local chocolatiers and bakers everywhere are getting in on the trend and getting creative with flavor combinations. So where can you find them? Several local businesses make these amazingly popular treats. Here’s a list of the locations I’ve found in Green Bay that offer them.

Teddie’s Creative Cakes sells a variety of tasty flavors of hot cocoa bombs, including a mini “baby bomb,” which is slightly smaller than its full-size counterpart. Get them directly at Teddie’s Creative Cakes inside The Revolution Market, or at Apricot Lane Boutique in Bay Park Square Mall (they have a selection of hot cocoa bombs on display). What an amazing way to shop two local businesses at the same time.

After my daughter’s haircut last week, it’s our tradition to stop into Alpha Delights for a treat. I was happy to see that they also have hot cocoa bombs, along with their many other baked goods and delicious food. Check them out next time you’re in De Pere!

Monzu Bakery also carries hot cocoa bombs in a variety of traditional and unique flavor combinations. They also offer convenient online ordering and store pickup, which is a great option for those wanting to practice social distancing.

MDelish Bakery Boutique is a licensed baker that also carries a variety of cocoa bombs.  Order directly through her Facebook page

Finally, The Dough Shoppe just started carrying hot cocoa bombs in several flavors, including espresso hot cocoa, vanilla chai, and Andes mint. Check out their Facebook page for the latest information on what they offer, and any promotions that may be going on.

If you’re looking to create your own hot cocoa bomb, Creative Cake Supplies has you covered. All that you need is a silicone mold, hot cocoa mix, chocolate, and choice of fillings. YouTube also has quick tutorials you can follow to make creating your very own hot cocoa bomb a snap. Have a happy and safe Valentine’s day, and enjoy!
