Covid hair… Who knew that would be a thing? My children’s hair grows so fast and furious that I swear they are wizards. I dread taking my kids into a salon and paying for a haircut that takes only a couple of minutes, but at the same time, I’m concerned about doing haircuts at home… I mean I am still scarred from my parents cutting my bangs. Since we haven’t been able to hit the salon, I was looking for options to learn how to style my kid’s hair.  Luckily, we had the opportunity to try out an online course called Barber Mom.

My Successful Spiky Cut!

Barber Mom taught me useful tips and tricks while giving me options to scale to my comfort levels. It is super easy to use and the videos allowed me the opportunity to review as I was cutting the hair. If I was uncomfortable with the scissors, there were tips for only using the clippers. I learned multiple boys’ styles and for girls, I learned about cutting bangs (without the dread) and adding layers. Expert advice is given on everything from taking care of the equipment to keeping my wiggly kids from moving their heads. One limitation of the program is that the hairstyles are meant for straight to wavy hair, so it may not be the best fit if your child has curly hair.

Barber Mom is a fantastic option for staying safe and saving money. With four kids, we are always looking for ways to save some extra money and this fantastic website gave me the opportunity to learn a new skill that will cut expenses. You can check them out at barbermom.com or on Facebook at thebarbermom. They also have a “take a peek video” on the website if you are looking for more information.

We are so happy we said goodbye to the Covid hair and best of all, my kids loved their new styles!
