Green Bay Area Moms Blog book club update:
Huge thanks go out to all of you moms who voted for our 2020 book club selections! I am blown away by the number of readers who chimed in on our titles.
As we already mentioned, our first book club selection is “Before We Were Yours” by Lisa Wingate. Our discussion on this title will be held Monday, March 16, from 6:30-8 p.m. at Lions Mouth Bookstore, 401 N. Washington St., Green Bay. Click here if you’d like to receive updates about the author’s upcoming visit to Untitledtown 2020 Book and Author Festival, which is coming April 23-26 to Green Bay. (Note: We’re not affiliated with this festival in any way, we just thought it was a really fun opportunity to read the book and have the opportunity to meet the author!!!)

Is your new year’s resolution to read more in 2020? Well, it should be! And I don’t just mean Dr. Seuss or picture books; regularly reading actual books—like, those with words—will not only improve your vocabulary, boost your memory, and help your concentration and focus, it’s also a known stress reliever. (Bonus: It gives us something to talk about with our girlfriends besides PTA gossip and our latest misadventures at the pediatrician’s office.)
Not a big reader? No idea where to start? We’re here to help! Our first book club read of 2020 will be “Before We Were Yours” by Lisa Wingate. Our March 2020 meeting (date/location TBA) will precede Wingate’s appearance in Green Bay at the Untitled Town 2020 Book and Author Festival, which will be held April 24-26!!
There are a dozen or so copies available to check out at your Brown County Library, though you might need to put your name in now as this book will only grow in demand this spring. To purchase online through Amazon, click here.
Since this book club is brand new, we are still ironing out the details of how this will all unfold. Ideally, we would like to meet four times in 2020—once each in early March, June, September, and December. Times and locations, again, to be determined later. In the meantime, let’s talk about book titles!

Last thing—we are all busy moms. If the thought of signing up and committing to a book group for the entire year stresses you out, STOP and RELAX!! This is a no-pressure book club! Our goal is to have fun, first and foremost, enjoy each other’s company and maybe share a thought or two on some interesting literature. There’s not going to be a test, and attendance is NOT mandatory!
